The single loop and multi-loop control techniques most often used in automating continuous and batch processes are addressed in the book Control Loop Foundation – Batch and Continuous Processes. Similarly, the advanced control techniques that are most often utilized in the process industry are addressed in the book Advanced Control Foundation – Tools, Techniques, and Applications. The solutions to the workshops included in these books may be seen by going to the web sites that go with the books; ControlLoopFoundation and AdvancedControlFoundation. Thus, many companies will find the combination of these two books and their web sites to be helpful in addressing training on control. Within the Emerson education department two classes have been created that cover the material and some of the workshops included in these two books: 9025 Control Loop Foundation and 7201 DeltaV Advanced Control. Thus, we recently created a promotional kit to help make more people aware of these books, their web site, and the education classes that are available to support training on control.
A picture that illustrates how the promotional kit is being used in the Austin education center to create a display is shown below:
An Foundation Book Information Sheet is included with the promotional kit that provide information on the books and how the paper back or e-book copy of Advanced Control Foundation and Control Loop Foundation may be purchased through ISA or how the paper back or e-book copy of Advanced Control Foundation and Control Loop Foundation may be purchased through Amazon. Thus, anyone who sees the display and wants to purchase one or both books can take a copy of the information sheet for future reference in purchasing the books.
A total of 40 promotional kits are being shipped this year to our local business partners (LBP’s) and Emerson offices around the world. Thus, the next time you visit one of these facilities there is a good chance that you will see a display created with the promotional kit.
