Emerson Exchange was held Sept 27th – Oct 1st, 2010 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas. Since Control Loop Foundation – Batch and Continuous Control was hot of the press, Mark Nixon and I took this opportunity to provide end users a detailed view of the book content. Jim Cahill posted a blog a few weeks before Emerson Exchange to alter attendees that Mark Nixon and I would be presenting a short course on the book at Emerson Exchange. We gave the short course two times at Emerson Exchange and were please to see that both sessions were well attended. The material we presented is designed to give an overview of the material covered in the book. A copy of the presentation we used in the short course is posted on the web if you want to learn more about this book.
ISA sponsored a booth at Emerson Exchange that sold books published by ISA. Susan Colwell, Manager, Publications Development for ISA, staffed the booth and initiated a book signing to highlight Control Loop Foundation and a book by Greg McMillan.
Many of the people I talked to that purchased Control Loop Foundation at Emerson Exchange said they like the fact that we have created a web site to go with the book that will permit the reader to perform the book workshops using their web browser. Also, for customers that use DeltaV, they valued being able to download from this web site the workshop modules used for control and dynamic process simulation. If you are interested in getting a copy of Control Loop Foundation, then the book can be purchased directly from the ISA web site.
